Chong Kat Bay is located in the shallow channel between the two main islands, Surin Tai and Surin Nuea. It is possible to walk across the two islands during low tides as the water can be quite shallow. The sea is a brilliant green and home to one of the most remarkable panoplies of coral reef to be found anywhere in Thailand – making for heavenly snorkeling. Sea currents are not strong enough to be considered as an issue, so it makes it an ideal spot for even children to snorkel. Marine life is aplenty here, and especially juvenile fish that are still not ready to survive out in the open waters yet.
