Nai Harn is located on the southernmost tip of Phuket. One of the most impressive beaches in Phuket, with outstanding water quality, the beautiful stretch of Nai Harn Beach is surrounded on both sides by jungle-covered mountains. Despite being a popular destination for the locals, it is still not as commercialized as the other beaches, making it an ideal destination for tourists to discover. Nai Harn is the perfect spot for great surfs and swims where you can even surf during May-August, as the beach has a reef-break with waves up to three meters. Caution is to be taken as the rip currents can prove to be quite strong at times. Even with the presence of lifeguards, surfers and swimmers have to be cautious of the safety zones as indicated by the yellow flags and the danger zones shown by the red flags.
Tourists love to relax on the beach of Nai Harn, where one can get a massage under the shelter of palm trees when not being in the water. Many vendors can be seen along the beach, selling drinks, and ice cream. Not far away from the beach, tourists can visit the Nai Harn temple, which is set in a beautiful setting. Many locals come to the temple for prayers, and tourists often come to take in the beauty of the temple. Located right next to the temple is Nai Harn Lake, where most people go there to jog. It is also the location for important events such as Loi Kra Thong, where floating candle lit flowers are placed on the lake. A picturesque Promthep Cape on the southeast of Nai Harn is a favorite spot that opens up to spectacular 180-degree sea views, especially at sunset. Walk down to the end of the cape or go to the top of the lighthouse for panoramic views of Phuket’s surrounding islands.
