Gorgeous and almost deserted, Banana Beach (sometimes called ‘Banana Rock Beach’) is seldom known in Phuket, being quite isolated. Nonetheless, it is one of Phuket’s glittering gems, with the aura of a ‘hidden beach.’ Spanning over 180 meters, it features fantastically clear water, perfect for swimming from November to May. Extra caution has to be taken during high tides where the waves can go as high as the tree line. The extreme southern and northern ends are the safest spots to be during this period. Being raw and natural, it is no wonder that Banana Beach is the perfect place for nature lovers as it is mostly untouched and not developed.
Even though Banana Beach is not fully developed for tourism, there are still a few exciting activities that one can anticipate when stepping foot on the beach. As mentioned earlier, swimming is only ideal from November to May, where the water is crystal clear. There is a restaurant on the beach where visitors can enjoy seafood that is freshly brought by fishermen, although prices could prove to be on the higher side. However, it is worth it as only fresh ingredients are used. Besides, Banana Beach is also ideal for lazing around, where one can have a relaxing massage under the shades at a reasonable price.
