Tucked away in South East Lombok’s Awang Bay is Pantai Surga, or ‘Heaven Beach.’ You can guess where the name comes from – sultry white sand, lines this peninsula, framed by tropical turquoise waters. Located at the end of a secluded bay on Lombok Island, Heaven Beach is famous for its untouched beauty, strengthening its reputation as a Lombok’s paradise. A considerable part of the beach is covered with white sand, while the backdrop of majestic hills and rocks make tourists want to stay on the beach longer.
It takes only 15 minutes to climb to the top of the hill, which is located on the right side of the Heaven beach. The view on the top is breathtaking, with the wind blowing and the high waves below you. Swells wrap the headlands and down the reefs offering a variety of surfing opportunities to surfers of all skill levels. Plus, decent snorkeling can be done on smoother days. The best time to conquer the waves here is from June to October, where the waves can be more challenging. Deep in the bay lies the quaint fishing village of Ekas and hiking trails to keep you occupied on this little traveled piece of Lombok heaven.
