Cenderawasih Bay is home to 18 paradise-like islands spanning over 500km of pristine and secluded coastline. The most attractive island in an entire bay is by far Biak Island. With excellent connectivity to surrounding islands, pristine beaches, deserted surf breaks, lush tropical rainforest, secluded hiking trails, Biak treasures also include endemic birds of paradise.
Biak Island in Cenderawasih Bay is renowned for what lies below the surface; the remains of the WW2 ‘Battle of Biak.’ The wrecks of sunken US landing craft, rescue planes, and fighter jets hold tremendous schools of fish and coral systems. Onshore, excellent points of interest include Bosnik Beach, where the US forces landed, and 3km long Japanese Cave used as a defense fortress.
