Seminyak is Bali’s most upscale beach resort area on the west coast; and a northern suburb of Kuta. It is home to some of the island’s many luxury resorts, high-end restaurants, and chic fashion boutiques. As such, it has rapidly become one of the most sought-after tourist areas in Bali. Seminyak Beach does offer a calmer atmosphere compared to Kuta. However, after sunset, a livelier scene more reminiscent of Bali’s nightlife capital dominates.
Seminyak Beach is not an off-the-beaten-path location by any means but a starting point for island hopping experiences, day trips, and boat tours to Bali’s bountiful surrounding waters and less traveled islands. For those who are into surfing, Seminyak Beach will cross this from your bucket-list during the right season.
Known as Pura Petitenget by the locals, Petitenget Temple is famously regarded as Seminyak’s central cultural landmark with Petitenget Beach only a few steps away. The latter is one of the quiet beaches in Bali. Its glowing grey sand contributes to the mysterious atmosphere during sunset. Another beach that is part of Seminyak and worthy of being explored is Double Six Beach, which is known for its golden-white sand. Horse-riding is the perfect way to enjoy the beautiful scenery along Seminyak beaches, especially during sunset.
