Inhabited once by Leonardo Di Caprio, Maya Bay is a fabulous, white sand beach, sheltered by 100-meter high cliffs on three sides. It is one of the world-famous beaches of the Koh Phi Phi islands on the southeast coast of Thailand, in the Andaman Sea. Maya Bay became remarkably famous in 2000 after the movie starring Leonardo Di Caprio called “The Beach” used the bay as the primary movie setting. The best time to visit Maya Bay is between November and April. The weather is excellent, while the waters are calm and completely crystalline, so the blue color is more vivid.
