Located just 5 km off the coast of Thailand’s largest island, Koh Rang Yai promises complete relaxation. On the west coast of the island, there is the main beach, which stretches for over a kilometer. Thanks to a gentle south current, you can float in the bathtub-warm water from one end of the beach to the other. Ashore Koh Rang Yai is a full recreation facility with canoes, mountain bikes, and trails.
Koh Rang Yai has an exquisite pearl shop where you can stock up on unique souvenirs. The pearls come from offshore pearl farms and are processed here artfully and by hand to jewelry and more. Koh Rang Yai is not explicitly known as an “amazing snorkel spot,” but that does not mean that you cannot spot a lot underwater on the rocky shores.
If you are looking for peace and quiet, it is enough to walk about 150 meters further, and the other tourists are no longer to be seen or heard. There are some paths palm-covered and mangrove-covered round Rang Yai island. These are not particularly exciting, but some trekkers say they’ve been looking for precisely this kind of experience. Those who want to have the island all to themselves, the best time to come is in the early morning or late afternoon. Most visitors come to Rang Yai between 11:00 and 15:00.
